Danny Descalzo is a respected drummer/educator in the San Francisco Bay Area.
His recording and performing credits are extensive.
He has been teaching for over 20 years and brings passion and knowledge to his lessons, he has strong sense of the skills needed in the "real world" to help his students reach their goals and his desire to educate and inspire his students is paramount.
Danny has performed and recorded with some of the finest artists in the area, including:
Atlantic Recording Artist Baxter Robertson, Curb Records Artists Cactus
Choir, Max Records Artist Mick Overman, Matt Nathanson, Fred McCarty,
Robert Temple and Moe's Kitchen to name a few. He has been a member of
the acclaimed Garcia Brothers Band for over 20 years.
The album "Herencia de Familia" was
nominated for the Billboard 2000 Album of the Year and won the Latin
Grammy for Best Norteno Performance that same year.
He has also been a member of the outstanding vocal group Triple Play, The Groove Kings and local legends Daddy-O.
Danny has studied with world class drummer/author Pete Magadini and renowned drummer Walfredo Reyes Jr. and is an endorsed artist/educator of the Vic Firth Company.
He is also a highly rated member of the Teachstreet Network.
Danny also helps coordinate San Mateo High Schools first drumline under the auspices
of Band Director Til Tribuzi and directs Drum Worlds drumline classes.
His teaching practice is endorsed by world class drummer/percussionist Walfredo Reyes Jr. He is also on the Board of Directors of the California Schools and Day Care Association.
